Who should attend?

This course is for people working with young children and those working towards an early years educator qualification. The emergency paediatric first aid course has been designed to meet the first aid training needs of newly qualified level two or three early years childcare staff. It is recommended for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets Childcare Registration requirements. This course is also suitable for parents and grandparents who would like to feel more confident in delivering first aid to children in their care. This course covers how to help a baby or child who: Is Unresponsive And Breathing Is Unresponsive And Not Breathing, Including How To Use An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Is Choking Is Bleeding Is Suffering From Shock Is Burnt Or Scald Is Having A Seizure The course also includes details on accident reporting and administering medication for those working in a childcare setting. Candidates will need to be aged 16 plus and physically able to participate. Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor along with written assessment and will lead to a FAA level 3 award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations and is Ofqual accredited. This course can be delivered at our training centre or at your workplace if more convenient.
